This recipe has quickly gone down as an all time favourite
I'm going to keep this weekly newsletter simple and sweet, just like this Chocolate Molten Lava Cake I conjured up a few weeks back. I shared this on social media last weekend, and it's quickly becoming a massive hit. And here's the thing; it's actually pretty good for you! Check out the recipe if you fancy a chocolatey sweet treat this weekend that the whole family will love.
Everything you need to know about post-exercise soreness
There was a time, maybe a decade ago, when working as a Personal Trainer I used to make it a standing joke with my clients that I wanted them thinking of me to be the first thing they did every morning. This was of course them waking up in some form of pain, the day after a workout with me. This was a nice joke at the time and shows a terrible sense of humour, but in reality, not necessarily the sign of an effective workout the day before, as you're about to find out.....
Hope the article provides you with a lot of value Gareth
You wont ready much on the internet about cardiovascular style training. Mostly because people are always talking about LISS (low intensity steady state) versus HIIT style training. And that's about it. It's pretty boring to hear about and do the same stuff all the time. But in case you didn't know there's another kid on the block. It's a method that combines resistance training and cardio, and unlike any typical circuit style of training you'll have seen before. I've used this method with some of my clients to great effect.
Enter Metabolic Resistance Training, MRT for short.
It's simple, you lift weight fast, non stop, for as long as the entire round of exercises take you, around 1-2 minutes depending on the routine. Unlike traditional circuit training the exercises are specifically put together to flow from one to the next while using the same piece of equipment, from bodyweight to barbell.
Here's an article (part of a series) I wrote around 3 years ago for Myprotein.com. Go back to the first article if you want to find a little more out about the theory, but I thought you'd appreciate me directing you straight to some fun and effective routines you can use in your training RIGHT NOW.
Here's 6 QUICK AND EFFECTIVE MRT WORKOUTS you can use to burn some stubborn body fat fast. There's also a pdf to download at the bottom of the article ready print and to take to the gym. No excuses.
